Nonfiction Challenge 4/5-4/12

    I did not know that Dog agility is a popular sport. I did not know where Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is. I did not know that One of them was held recently in Jacksonville, Florida.

    1. I am a fan of dogs too! Cats though? Not so much. Do you have any dogs at home and if so what kind? What is your favorite kind of dog? At the school I taught at last year, the P.E. teacher throws frisbees to her dogs and competes in many shows. There were many times that I had the opportunity to see this and it was amazing!

    3.I learned animals pollinate about one out of every three bites of food we eat. I learned california’s almond crop alone depends on about half the bees in the country, about 1.5 million colonies. I learned researchers do have some ideas about what could be affecting bee health.

    3.i learned that TFK first interviewed Selena Gomez in 2007 when she was 15 years old.Next i learned that Back then, the Texas native was just starting out on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, her music career hadn’t even begun and she was far from being a household name. finally the last fact i learned that selena was Born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, the Hispanic-American actress got her start on Barney and Friends before skyrocketing to fame on the Emmy Award–winning Wizards. For her music and acting talents, and for her tireless work with UNICEF, Selena Gomez is a nominee for TFK's 2011 Person of the Year.

    3. In this article, I have learned that students at Sopris Elementary School in Colorado are planting their own garden at school. The students wanted to make their school lunch healthier and grow their own vegetables. I learned that they school got a solar-heating system in their greenhouse to keep their plants warm in the winter and even used worms as fertlizer for their plants, which include carrots and spinach.

    4. This article relates to me because I find planting my own food is cool and interesting. Also, I think it would be awesome if our school could plant its own garden and have a greenhouse just like in Sopris Elementary.

    3.Dylan Riley Snyder, 16, is back for a third season of Disney XD’s hit series Kickin’ It. On the show, Dylan plays the quirky brainiac Milton, who divides his time between homework and practicing karate with the rest of the gang. Outside of Kickin’ It, Dylan is involved with number of charity organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, The Shoe Crew and the American Cancer Society.
    4.this relates to me because i am raising money for charity and i'v always wanted to do karate.
